Sign-in & Sign-out
Workers sign on and off site so there is always an accurate record of who is present. This guide covers how workers sign in at the kiosk, the QR option, signing visitors in, and how you can sign your own workers in from the app.
Signing In at the Kiosk
The most common way to sign on is at a site kiosk — a tablet or phone set up at the site entrance — without needing to log in. The worker is found by entering a worker code, or by their date of birth and name. The kiosk flow then:
- Acknowledges any site messages so the worker sees important notices
- Records attendance for any meetings
- Captures a photo of the worker
- Verifies the worker's location against the site geofence, which is roughly a 500m radius around the project
- Captures a signature
Workers must be inducted and approved before they can sign on. See Inductions for how workers are registered and approved.
Signing In by QR Code
As an alternative to the kiosk, workers can sign on by scanning a QR code on their phone. The code rotates on a secure schedule, so it cannot be copied or reused, which keeps the record trustworthy.
Signing In Visitors
Visitors do not need an induction to sign in. A visitor signs on by entering:
- Their name
- Their company
- Their contact details
- The purpose of their visit
- Their host on site
This keeps visitors on the same attendance record as workers without putting them through the full induction process.
Signing Your Workers In and Out
If you manage your own organisation, you can sign your workers in and out from within the app, rather than relying on the kiosk. This is useful when you are managing a crew and want to record attendance directly. Sign-in records can include a photo, so the record stays consistent with kiosk sign-ons.
What Guests Cannot Do
You sign in your own organisation's workers and visitors. Guests cannot sign on a worker who has not been inducted and approved — workers must complete their induction and be approved by the host first.
