Inspections

Carry out the inspections your organisation has been assigned and record the results directly in Teralo. This guide covers finding your inspections, working through the items, and what happens after you submit.

Finding Your Inspections

If you have been granted permission to carry out inspections, you can find the ones assigned to your organisation in two places:

  • My Inspections: a focused list of the inspections waiting for your action
  • Inspections register: the full register, filtered to what is assigned to your organisation

As a subcontractor or consultant guest, you only ever see inspections and items assigned to your own organisation. Items belonging to other parties are hidden from you.

Carrying Out an Inspection

Starting an Inspection

  1. Open My Inspections or the Inspections register
  2. Select the inspection you have been assigned
  3. Click Start to begin recording results

Answering Each Item

Work through the inspection one item at a time. For each item you can:

  • Mark it as Pass, Fail, or N/A where it does not apply
  • Enter a value where the item asks for a measurement or reading
  • Add photos as a visual record
  • Add notes to explain or give context

Handling Failed Items

When an item fails, upload supporting evidence so the inspector understands the issue:

  1. Mark the item as Fail
  2. Attach photos or other evidence
  3. Add a note describing what was found
  4. Mark the item as submitted

The inspector then reviews each submitted item and marks it as pass or fail. If an item is rejected, it bounces back to you with a comment explaining why. Revise the item based on the comment and resubmit it for another review.

Completing the Inspection

Once all required items have been answered and accepted, the inspection is completed. There is nothing further for you to do unless an item is sent back for revision.

Raising an Observation from a Failure

If a failed item needs corrective action tracked over time, it can be turned into an Observation. The observation links back to the inspection it came from, so the history stays connected and everyone can see where the issue originated.

What Guests Cannot Do

Your role is to carry out assigned inspections, not to configure them. Guests cannot:

  • Create or manage inspection templates, plans, or locations
  • Reassign inspections to other organisations
  • See inspections or items assigned to other organisations

Setting up and assigning inspections is handled by the project host.
