Host FAQ

Quick answers to the questions hosts ask most often when setting up and running projects in Teralo.

How do I create a project?

From your Organisation Dashboard, click Create Project (or the + button) and enter the project details. Once created, you can activate the tools it needs and add your team. See Creating Projects for the full walkthrough.

How do I invite my team and guests?

Open a project, go to its Directory, click Add Person, and assign a permission template to each person. You can add colleagues from your organisation or invite new users by email. See Team Management and Inviting Guests.

What is a permission template?

A permission template is a reusable bundle of permissions that decides what a person can see and do. Teralo provides presets for common organisation and project roles, and you can create your own. Everyone added to a project is given a template. See Team Management.

What is the difference between a host and a guest?

A host owns and creates projects, configures tools, manages billing, and reviews and approves submissions. A guest is invited to participate — subcontractors and consultants who lodge items for your team to review. One project can bring hosts and guests from several organisations together.

How does billing work?

The host organisation manages the subscription and billing for the projects it runs. You can view and manage your plan from your organisation settings. See Billing & Plans.

What can guests do on my project?

Guests can lodge and submit items — such as safety data sheets, permits, equipment, site diary entries and method statements — and take part in reviews. You review and approve what they submit, so you stay in control of your project.

How do approval workflows work?

Approval workflows route submitted items to the right people for review and sign-off before they're finalised. You configure who reviews what to match how your business operates. See Workflows & Approvals.

Can I customise the tools and modules?

Yes. Each tool has its own types, statuses and templates, which you configure at organisation level and activate per project. See Tools Configuration.

Does Teralo work on mobile and desktop?

Yes. Teralo runs in any modern web browser, on desktop for Windows, macOS and Linux, and on mobile for iOS and Android — perfect for working out on site.

How do I set up the public portal?

The public portal lets you share selected project information externally. You can configure it from your project's tools. See Public Portal.
