Essentials
A short tour of the core concepts behind Teralo for hosts. Understanding these building blocks makes everything else click into place.
Organisations and Projects
Your organisation is your host account. It's the home base from which you create projects, manage billing, configure tools, author reports and run procurement.
A project is where the day-to-day work happens. One organisation hosts many projects, and a single project can include members from several guest organisations — your team and your subcontractors and consultants, all working in the same place.
Permission Templates
Access in Teralo is controlled with permission templates — reusable bundles of permissions that you assign to people rather than ticking boxes one by one. Everyone added to a project must be given a template.
To save you time, Teralo ships with presets:
- Organisation-level presets: Organisation Admin, Office Manager, Finance, and General Staff.
- Project-level presets: Project Manager, Site Manager, Contract Administrator, Document Controller, Subcontractor, Design Consultant, Inspector or Superintendent, and View Only.
Organisation administrators automatically have full access to projects their organisation hosts. You can also create your own templates for roles specific to your business. See Team Management for details.
The Directory
The directory is where people live in Teralo:
- The organisation directory lists your organisation's members.
- Each project directory lists everyone on that project, including the guests you've invited.
Tools
Tools are the configurable modules behind each part of Teralo. Each tool has its own types, statuses and templates, which you set up once at organisation level and then activate per project. This keeps your projects consistent while still letting each one use only what it needs. See Tools Configuration.
Setup-Progress Checklists
You'll never be left guessing what's next. Both the organisation dashboard and each project dashboard show a setup-progress checklist that tracks the configuration still to be completed, so you can work through setup at your own pace.
The Multi-Organisation Submission Model
Teralo is built for organisations working together. The guests you invite — subcontractors and consultants — lodge items such as safety data sheets, permits, equipment, site diary entries and method statements. Your team then reviews and approves them. This shared submission model keeps everyone's contributions in one project, with you in control of what gets approved. See Workflows & Approvals.
