The mobile app
Teralo on iOS and Android is the same account and the same data as the browser, shaped for a phone held in one hand on a site with a hard hat on. It is the version that matters most in the field, because it is the one that keeps working when the signal does not.
Get it from the App Store or Google Play. Both are also linked from teralo.co/downloads.
Sign in once
The app signs in the same way the website does: your email and password, or Google, Microsoft or Apple. Two-factor, if you use it, works exactly as it does in a browser.
A session lasts thirty days and renews itself while you keep using it, so a phone in daily use never asks you to sign in again. See Security and two-factor authentication.
The bar along the bottom
The bottom bar carries five buttons. Three are fixed: Dashboard on the left, Search in the middle and More on the right. More opens the full sidebar, so nothing is out of reach.
The other two are yours. Choose up to three tools for the bottom bar and they sit either side of Search. It starts as Mail and AI Chat on a project, and Directory at organisation level.
Customise the tray
Change them from Customise tray in the sidebar sheet, or by pressing and holding any tool button in the bar. Pick from the list in the order you want them; the numbers on the rows are the slots. Reset to defaults puts it back.
The list only ever offers tools you can actually open, so a tool your permissions do not cover, or that your plan does not include, is not there to choose.
The camera, and photo quality
Anywhere Teralo takes a photo it can take one directly: an inspection item, an observation, an equipment record, an induction registration, a project photo album, a passive fire installation.
Two settings sit on the capture screen and both are remembered on the device.
Quality is High, Medium or Low. High is a 2048-pixel image, Medium 1600, Low 1024. High is the default and is the right choice for anything that has to show a defect. Low is worth having when you are on a phone plan on a site with two bars and forty photos to take.
Photos are timestamped by default
Timestamp overlays the date and time on the image, and is on unless you turn it off. Leave it on. A site photo with the date burned into it is worth considerably more six months later than one whose date is only in a file property.
When there is no coverage
The mobile app is the one that works offline properly. Documents you have pinned stay readable, inspections can be filled in, photos taken, observations raised, and everything queues up and syncs itself when you get coverage back.

Exports go to your device
Downloading a document, or exporting a register to Excel or PDF, saves the file into your device's Documents folder, where your files app can open or share it.
What is deliberately not on a phone
The report builder needs a laptop. Below a laptop width it replaces itself with a message saying so, rather than rendering a drag-and-drop canvas that cannot be operated with a thumb. Reports built elsewhere are perfectly readable on a phone.
Dashboards are read-only on a phone. You can look at every widget; rearranging the board is a desktop job for the same reason.
Everything else is there. The phone is not a cut-down version of Teralo with a subset of modules; it is the whole thing.
Notifications arrive by email, not as push
Teralo sends no push notifications. Everything it needs to tell you arrives as an email, on every platform, and the in-app equivalent is My Items, which is the list of everything waiting on you.
That makes the notification preferences page more consequential than the equivalent screen in most apps: turning something off there means nothing will tell you. See Notification settings.
The site kiosk is a browser page, not this app
Worth knowing, because people go looking for it here. The sign-in and sign-out kiosk, the QR code a worker scans at the gate, and the public induction registration form are all pages a worker opens in an ordinary phone browser with no account and no app.
