Project settings
Edit the project details, address, images and administrators.
Found in each project. What's the difference?
Only host staff with the settings permission open it; project administrators add other administrators.
Project settings holds a project's details, address, logo and cover photo, the compliance documents its organisations must provide, and its administrators. You also archive or delete the project there.
In the project sidebar, under Project Settings, select Settings. The page opens as Project Configuration.
Only people in the project's host organisation can open the page, and only with Can view project settings. Guests never see it.
The Project Information card holds:
- Project Name: 2 to 100 characters.
- Description: up to 500 characters.
- Project Code: up to 50 characters.
- Project Value: in your organisation's base currency, which the label shows, as in Project Value (AUD).
- Start Date and End Date: the end date must be on or after the start date.
- Project Manager.
- Edit the fields.
- Select Save Project Information.
- On the Project Information card, select Select project manager....
- Search for the person, then choose them. The list holds everyone in the project's Directory, from every organisation on the project.
- Select Save Project Information.
To clear the project manager, choose Clear selection, then save. Teralo records the project manager by name. Choosing someone gives them no extra permissions.
- On the Project Address card, select Search for an address... and type at least 3 characters.
- Choose the address. Teralo fills in the street, city, state, postcode, country, latitude and longitude.
- Choose the Time Zone. The address search doesn't set it.
- Select Save Project Address.
If you enter the address by hand and leave the latitude and longitude empty, Teralo works them out from the street or city when you save.
The address gives the project its weather, on the site diary, the dashboard's weather cards and the public portal. The time zone sets the times in the daily bookings email, tender due dates and envelope closing dates. A project with no time zone uses UTC.
The Project Visuals card holds a square Logo (the card recommends 512 by 512 pixels) and a 16:9 Cover Photo. Each can be a JPEG, PNG or WebP file of up to 5 MB.
- Select the Logo or Cover Photo box, or drag an image onto it.
- Use the zoom slider to fit the image, then select Crop.
To remove an image, select the red cross on its corner. Teralo removes it straight away. You can upload each image up to 5 times an hour.
The Compliance Requirements card lists the documents every organisation on the project must provide, the host organisation included. Each requirement is Mandatory or Optional, and an organisation can be exempted from one with Exemptions. Learn more about compliance documents.
A project administrator has every permission on the project, except for tools the host's plan leaves out. The person who creates a project becomes one.
The card lists the host organisation's administrators first, under Organisation Administrators. They have the same access on every project the organisation hosts, and can't be removed here.
- On the Project Administrators card, select Add Administrator.
- Choose the person from Select a user. The list holds the active members of the host organisation.
- Select Add Admin.
Teralo emails the person to say they are now a project administrator.
- On the person's row, select the bin icon.
- Select Remove Admin.
The person stays on the project with their permission template, and Teralo emails them. A row marked Not an active member belongs to someone who is no longer an active member of the host organisation, and gives them no access.
Archiving a project makes it read-only for everyone on it and takes down its public portal. An archived project isn't billed, and its files move to cold storage. Everything in it can still be viewed and downloaded.
- On the Archive Project card, select Archive Project.
- Type the project's name, then select Archive Project.
Teralo opens the organisation dashboard.
To make the project editable again, open its settings, select Unarchive Project, then select Unarchive Project again. A project whose organisation has been closed can't be unarchived until Teralo support reopens the organisation.
Warning: Deleting a project is permanent. It deletes every document, mail item, procurement record and setting on the project, and removes everyone from it. Teralo emails everyone on the project.
- On the Delete Project card, select Delete Project.
- Type the project's name, then select Delete Project.
An archived project has no Delete Project card, so unarchive it first. If the project used a project licence, the licence is not returned. Learn more about billing.
Two permissions, shown as View and Edit on the Settings row of a project permission template. Only host staff can hold them.
- Can view project settings: opens the page, and with it the compliance requirements.
- Can manage project settings: saves the project information, the address and the images, and archives the project.
Project administrators and the host organisation's administrators hold both. They are also the only people who add or remove project administrators.
Deleting a project takes the organisation permission Can delete projects (host organisations only). Project administrators and the host organisation's administrators can delete a project without it. Learn more about how permissions work.
